Geoff Dawe and Family
Geoff and his wife Henny moved to Aurora in 1977. Their three daughters were born and raised here. As a father, a businessman and civic minded resident, he quickly became involved in our community: cubs, scouts and guides; the Rotary club; Trinity Anglican Church; the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, where he was named president (2009); the “Grow your Mind” fundraising campaign for the Aurora Public Library; board member and then Chair, Aurora Public Library Board and then, in 2010 in a landslide victory, Geoff was elected as Mayor, for the Town of Aurora.

As Mayor, Geoff has represented the Town at Regional Council, on the Board of Southlake Health Centre, as the Vice-Chair of the Lake Simcoe Regional Conservation Authority and as Honourary Commandant of the Queen’s York Rangers Cadet Corps.

In all cases, Geoff has worked hard to make a positive difference.  When elected Mayor, his first goal was to get us back on track and then get us moving forward.  He was committed to making decisions that served the interests of all Aurorans. We are all proud to say that four years later, Aurora is now considered the best place to live in York Region!

Experience – without Hype

With over 25 years of proven business experience and community involvement, Geoff has compiled an enviable track record of experience that has proven beneficial to our community. His experience is real, relevant and readily transferable to the needs of all Aurora residents.

He believes what you believe; that running the $80 million dollar corporation of Aurora, requires legitimate, real world business experience and demonstrated leadership abilities — not simply long service as a politician.
