Aurora approves Capital Budget
Aurora Town Council and staff have been diligently working together to present a balanced budget forresidents. A number of budget related items were approved at the Tuesday, October 27 CouncilMeeting:
- 2015 Asset Management Plan – a strategic document that describes the characteristics and
conditions of infrastructure assets, level of service and planned actions
- 2016 Capital Budget for Repair and Replacement of existing infrastructure totalling $8,298,275
- 2016 Capital Budget for Growth and New Capital totalling $3,726,600
- 2016 Capital Budget for Studies and Other Projects totalling $350,000

Town of Aurora investigates options for proposed Sign By-law
Aurora Town Council received a report regarding a proposed Sign By-law to regulate temporary andpermanent signage. The draft Sign By-law will be referred to the Economic Development Advisory Committee and the Aurora Chamber of Commerce. It will also be posted on the Town’s website forreview and comment. Staff will report back with a final recommended Sign By-law for enactment at afuture Council Meeting.
Proposed 2016 Fees and Charges By-Law
Aurora Town Council received a report regarding an amendment to the 2016 Fees and Charges By-law Schedule A through G – as part of the Fees and Charges By-Law for 2016 (Bylaw Number 5680-15).
The By-law will be enacted at the Council meeting on Tuesday, November 24.

Aurora Sports Hall of Fame Relocation
Aurora Town Council has approved the relocation of the Sports Hall of Fame to the Stronach Aurora Recreation Complex (SARC). The Sports Hall of Fame is currently housed on the third floor of Aurora Town Hall.
The estimated cost to relocate and renovate the new area is $7,500. The primary costs would be for creation of a wall. The existing display cases will be re-used. The move will expand opportunities and partnerships that contribute to the celebration of sport in the
community. Relocation of the Aurora Sports Hall of Fame will occur in 2016.

The next meeting of Aurora Town Council will take place on Tuesday, November 10 at 7 p.m. in Town Hall Council Chambers, located at 100 John West Way.
