The winter weather is here and so are the snow and ice! Town staff has been working hard to construct our outdoor ice rinks. The rinks located at Town Park and Ada Johnson Park are now open for skating. Additionally, Adopt-A-Park Volunteers (the Ice Kools Rink Maintenance team) have constructed an ice rink at James Lloyd Park. Town staff are working on creating the rinks at Confederation Park and Machell Park.

Looking for something to keep busy on the Family Day holiday? Join us for Aurora’s Arctic Adventure and enjoy professional ice carving, outdoor winter games, outdoor skating, mini snow tubing, live entertainment and more! The event is being held at Town Park on Monday, February 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Are you Aurora’s next Junior Chef?  Try out your culinary skills in Aurora’s Junior Chef Competition. This friendly competition is open to anyone between the ages of 9 and 14. The deadline to apply is Thursday, February 1. The competition will be taking place on Monday, February 19 in Victoria Hall at Aurora’s Arctic Adventure. Don’t miss a chance to connect with me at the Annual Mayor’s Luncheon hosted by the Aurora Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, February 21 at Oakview Terrace starting at 11:45 a.m. This event gives me a chance to connect with Aurora’s business community and answer key questions that directly affect local businesses. The Aurora Winter Blues Festival is also around the corner. This is the seventh year of this entertaining and dynamic event where attendees can enjoy Blues music played by several talented and well acclaimed artists. The festival is held on Friday, February 23 and Saturday, February 24 from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at St. Andrew’s College – Ketchum Theatre. For more information, visit musicaurora.ca

Save the date for Aurora’s first annual Sport Summit geared towards coaches, administrators, parents and players.
