As a retired local business person and longtime resident, I’m proud to call Aurora my home. I supported Geoff Dawe in the past and will continue to do so. It takes an individual of many talents to be effective in the role of Mayor and Geoff excels in all areas. Geoff’s business background enables him to understand what it takes to be successful, and he uses these talents to provide guidance and assistance to all citizens in our community. As past president of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, Geoff honed his negotiation skills to continually arrive at a consensus acceptable to all. These are the true marks of a leader. As Mayor, Geoff was always there to support new businesses and assist citizens. I like and respect him for who he is and everything he has done. Geoff has my endorsement and my vote for mayor.
I have had the privilege of working with Geoff Dawe over many years as he gave generously of his time and talent in a number of volunteer roles. Under his leadership as Mayor over the past eight years, Aurora has experienced carefully planned development of new residential areas as well as welcomed numerous new employers, large and small, into our community. During this time of political uncertainty across the province, Geoff will continue to provide the vision, leadership and collaborative atmosphere the Aurora community wants and deserves.

Geoff, I’m happy to see you have decided to seek re-election as Mayor of Aurora. During your tenure as Mayor, in our discussions, you have always found balanced solutions that consider the best interests of your constituents. We have made a lot of progress working together over the past 8 years, which has produced positive results for Aurora, Newmarket and the Northern Six Municipalities of York Region. The successful collaboration we have forged will be critical to solving issues that affect our communities, and I look forward to your constructive contributions.

My family and I have been residents in Aurora for over 20 years. I have known Geoff for many years and his support of The ABLE Network has been outstanding. At ABLE, we support adults with Intellectual Disabilities and Mayor Dawe has shown amazing support for inclusivity of Aurora residents of all abilities. Geoff’s openness to diversity is an important quality for the Mayor of Aurora to have going forward. Mayor Dawe has been a very positive influence on our town and has accomplished many things in the last four years. I strongly endorse Geoff to be our Mayor in the next municipal election.

In my years of service as the Provincial Member of Parliament for Aurora, I came to recognize the need for and the benefit of strong leadership for our community. A strong leader is multi-dimensional. They are there when you need them, not just when it is convenient to them. I believe that the Aurora community has benefi ted greatly from the stable and strong leadership Geoff Dawe has provided to Aurora and all of its residents over the past eight years.

Mayor Geoff Dawe is an advocate for all types of education and has been a long-time friend to St. Andrew’s College. He understands the benefits of an independent school education and the value of our school as one of Aurora’s best employers. Under Geoff’s leadership, the Town of Aurora has provided the support necessary for the expansion of SAC facilities and enhancements to our campus, which helps us to maintain and grow our reputation as the best independent school in Canada. Geoff’s vision and guidance will certainly enhance Aurora’s sense of community and strength as we move through this time of tremendous growth together.

The Salvation Army Central York Region is excited to be part of the Aurora community and greater Central York Region, where strong leadership, vision, development, and stable planning continue to be embraced. Like the Salvation Army, we recognize that the human service delivery and the emerging holistic needs of people require both a strong leader and community. Today, stability in leadership is essential to help provide consistency as we navigate through both struggles and opportunities. Over this past number of years, I personally have experienced this in the leadership of Geoff Dawe and recognize his passion and compassion for the multi-cultural and multi-generational residents of the Aurora community.

It has been a pleasure to work with Geoff Dawe on the Board of Directors at Southlake Regional Health Centre. Geoff has been a strong and passionate advocate for Aurora residents and has worked tirelessly to help shape Southlake into a global centre of health excellence. I have been a resident of Aurora for 33 years and have attended most council and council committee meetings for the past two years or so. I have observed how Geoff Dawe expertly chairs the meetings to minimize conflict and works to obtain a general consensus with the well-being of residents of Aurora always top of mind. The time that Geoff has spent in the Aurora community, both as a resident and in the past 8 years as Mayor, has given him an excellent understanding of his constituents and the character of the Town. I believe Geoff Dawe is the best choice for Mayor in the upcoming October 22 election. I will be voting for Geoff and urge you to do the same.
I have known Geoff for over 30 years having met he and his family at Trinity Anglican Church. During this time period, I witnessed Geoff’s commitment to his Church and Community through countless service roles. Geoff always brings a positive passion to all roles he has accepted to serve his town. The past 8 years while Geoff has been in office as our Mayor, have been the most productive and harmonious years I have seen by our town council. Geoff has led many positive initiatives for Aurora and effectively managed to bring a new sense of pride and performance within our town’s staff members Geoff has a keen and well developed sense of what is needed for our town and somehow manages to make appearances at all local events and every new business opening or business special event. I fully support and endorse Geoff for re-election as Aurora’s Mayor.
Geoff works hard, is always accessible and listens to the concerns of the community. Our neighbourhood has seen his hard work first hand with the accomplishment of the new public High School for Aurora’s Northeast. Thanks to his leadership our kids will walk to school in Grade 10!
It is my pleasure to provide such a simple support. I really like the version of Aurora that you have played an important role in producing; my family is looking forward to October 22nd. Thank you for your offer to come back and meet with my neighbours. I will be gladly passed along in the sincere hope that they are open to a discussion.
